ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Minnesota State Moorhead scored 21 points in the first quarter, guiding the Dragons to a 24-13 win over St. Cloud State in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference football Saturday afternoon at Husky Stadium.

Thanks to a fumble recovery by Derek Porozinksi, MSUM was able to tally three touchdowns in the final 3 minutes, 22 seconds of the first quarter, including a 31-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jakup Sinani to Jake Richter to build an eventual 24-3 halftime lead.

Sinani completed 13 passes for 203 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Grady Bresnahan caught a game-high six passes for 81 yards to lead the Dragons, while Ty Jochim gained 58 yards on the ground.

Dwayne Lawhorn passed for 202 yards for St. Cloud State, (4-7) while John Solberg totaled 95 receiving yards.

MSUM finished the season 6-5 overall.
