GRAND FORKS — The University of North Dakota football team pulled off a 45-38 victory over Northern Colorado on Saturday afternoon at the Alerus Center.

Brady Leach's 43-yard field goal right before halftime gave the Fighting Hawks a 31-21 lead entering the break. In the third quarter, Kadon Kauppinen blocked a punt and returned it for a 7-yard touchdown, building a 45-21 lead.

Northern Colorado made it interesting, scoring 17 unanswered points, before Jaxon Turner intercepted UNC quarterback Jacob Knipp to seal the game late in the fourh quarter.

UND quarterback Nate Ketteringham completed 26 of 37 passes for 297 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Cam McKinney's 102 yards on the ground led all rushers in the game, while Noah Wanzek caught nine passes for 125 yards and one score.

Knipp totaled 393 yards through the air for UNC (2-9), and Jaren Mitchell hauled in 10 catches for a game-high 242 yards and two touchdowns.

UND (6-4) hosts Southern Utah at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 to conclude the regular season.
