The Minnesota Gopher football team will play in a bowl game on New Years Day while Kansas State will play in a bowl game on New Years Eve day.

The Gophers, who lost two of their last three games, will take a 10-2 record to the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Fla., on Wednesday, Jan. 1, against a 9-3 Auburn team. The noon game will be televised on ESPN.

Kansas State, coached by first-year head coach and former North Dakota State head coach Chris Klieman, will take an 8-4 record to the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tenn., on Tuesday, Dec. 31 against a 9-2 Navy team. The 2:45 p.m. game will be televised on ESPN.
