North Dakota State is waiting on its 2020 football season, but they have an eye on its recruits for 2021.

The Bison have 12 verbal commitments in next year's class and half of them are playing right now. Three commits are from Minnesota and Missouri. Minnesota has delayed its high school season to the spring, while Missouri is set to begin this coming week.

Here's a brief recap of how NDSU's commits fared this weekend.

Barika Kpeenu (West Fargo Sheyenne) - The Mustang running back had his best performance of the season Friday night in a rivalry game against West Fargo. Kpeenu had 31 carries for 221 yards and four touchdowns in a 28-0 win for the Mustangs. Kpeenu had a brilliant 51 yard score that sealed the game in the 4th quarter. Friday marked the second time this season that Kpeenu scored four touchdowns in a game, he did it as well in the season opener. Sheyenne is now 3-0 on the season and faces Shanley on Friday.

Enock Sibomana (Fargo South) - The Bruin senior defensive back has had a rocky start to the season. He was injured in Week 1 against Shanley and sat out a Week 2 game with West Fargo. Enock was back on Friday night and made his impact with an interception for the Bruins. South came up one point short in a 21-20 loss to Fargo Davies.

Truman Werremeyer (Fargo Davies) - The Davies senior had a big game on offense and defense Friday. Werremeyer had four carries for 18 yards, but blocking for running back Colton Alme, who scored a pair of touchdowns on the ground. He added a 26 yard reception, but it was on defense where he made his mark. Werremeyer was great at linebacker finishing with 10 tackles, 7 of them solo. Davies is now 3-0 on the season

Nasir Howell (North Cobb HS) - Howell's team had one of the biggest wins in Georgia Friday night. North Cobb High School beat Buford 28-14, Buford was the reigning 5A state champion in the state. North Cobb head coach Shane Queen said "That may be our biggest win in my time here,” Queen said. “It ranks right up there. It was huge.” Howell clinched the game for North Cobb with a 46 yard interception return for a touchdown in the win.

Britton Pascoe (Bloomingdale HS) - Pascoe's team also scored a major win Friday. Bloomingdale was facing Armwood, a traditional power in Florida. Pascoe came up with a big tackle as the Bulls won 15-14. Pascoe was all over the field on defense in the Bloomingdale win.

Jaxon Duttenhefer (Mandan) - The Braves and the Western Dakota Association had a bye week this past weekend. Mandan plays at Bismarck Thursday night.

Kody Huisman (Pella HS) - Huisman and the Pella Dutch were big winners in Iowa Friday night, knocking off Knoxville, 42-7 on the road. Huisman was playing both ways on offense and defense and besides blocking for a team that ran for 241 yards, Huisman added two tackles, including one for loss in the win.

Alex Oeschner (Waukesha Catholic) - Season begins this Friday.

Cole Payton (Omaha Westside) - Had a bye week this week. Westside faces Papillion-LaVista South on Friday.

Logan Kopp (Lindbergh HS) - Season begins this Friday.

Sam Henry (Eden Prairie) and Finn Diggins (Perham) - Seasons postponed to the spring.
