Force hit a bump, fall at Omaha

The Lancers hit the Force early to come away with a win on Friday.

OMAHA, Neb. — Omaha scored twice in the first five minutes of the game and rode that momentum to a 4-2 win over the Fargo Force on Friday before 1,844 at Liberty First Credit Union Arena.
Owen Fowler gave the Lancers the lead with a goal at 2:11 of the first period and Garrett Wright made it 2-0 with a goal at 4:52 of the first.
Fargo's Cole Knuble pulled the Force within a goal, scoring at 3:44 of the second on assists from Andre Gasseau and Bryan Huggins.
But the Lancers reestablished the two-goal margin when Wright scored his second of the game at 9:29 of the second and Jared Wright made it 4-1 with a goal at 16:46 of the second.
Fargo's Tyson Gross scored at 14:48 of the third on an assist from Cooper Gay, but the Force couldn't get anything else past Lancers goalie Kevin Pasche, who stopped 22 shots.
The Force, who entered game having won two of their last three, play at Sioux City at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8.
