Ali Collins scored 22 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and added nine steals to spark Mandan to a 54-45 victory against Grand Forks Red River on Thursday in the first round of the North Dakota Class A state girls basketball tournament at the Fargodome.
The six-time defending state champion Braves (14-9) play Fargo South (23-0) at 1 p.m. Friday in the state semifinals.
Chelsea Carlson paced the Roughriders with 10 points.
