Fargo South on Monday named Josh Rogers as its new head girls hockey coach.
"I'm very excited to get back into girls hockey," Rogers said. "(The Bruins) finished fourth last year with a lot of young talent. I look forward to helping those girls grow and do every better at state."
Rogers, 27, helped Grand Forks Red River to state titles in 2000 and 2001 as a player.
He went on to play one year at Division III Concordia before he was hired as a coach for Moorhead's U-14 girls team. Rogers was the team's head coach for four seasons.
Rogers, who was also hired to be a science instructor in the Fargo school district, was a Bruins junior varsity boys coach last year.

Rogers replaces Travis Ingbretson, who left the program early last season due to a change in his professional career that made it difficult to travel with the team.
The Bruins coach for four full seasons, Ingbretson was replaced last year by Jordan Savageau. Savageau led South to a fourth-place finish at state.
"It looks like we have a fantastic candidate," South activities director Cory Lehman said. "... He has good professional interaction and he has a very good grasp of the game of hockey."
In other Bruins sports news, Lehman said Harvey Kruckenberg has been named South's co-head wrestling coach.
Lehman said the plan is to have Kruckenberg take over as South sole head coach when longtime Bruins coach Lynn Forde steps down after next season.
South will likely name a new head volleyball coach this week, Lehman said. Former coach Tonah Safranski was recently named the head girls basketball coach at Fargo Davies.
