NEWTON, Kan. — The North Dakota State women's golf team saved its best round for last, shooting a 300 in Tuesday's third and final round to finish in fifth place with 951 strokes at the Summit League Championship at Sand Creek Station Golf Course.

NDSU shaved 23 strokes off its second-round total (323) and three Bison golfers finished in the top 20. Taylor McCorkle was the high finisher for NDSU, tying for seventh place with a final tally of 233 (75-83-75). Emma Groom shot even par in the final round to finished tied for 12th at 237 (83-82-72). Maddie Herzog notched a 17th place finish with rounds of 86, 78 and 75 for a total of 247.

Denver won the title with a mark of 217 strokes.
