MINNEAPOLIS -- Oxbow, N.D.'s Amy Olson kicked off a big week for women's golf in the Twin Cities by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at the Minnesota Twins game at Target Field on Sunday, June 16.

It was a strike.

Olson hopes things continue going well the rest of the week. An LPGA Tour major championship, the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, begins at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn., on Thursday.

It's the third major of the season for the LPGA. Olson wants to improve on her finishes in the previous two major championships, the ANA Inspiration and the U.S. Women's Open. She finished tied for 52nd in the Inspiration and missed the cut in the Open, played May 30-June 2 at the Country Club of Charleston in South Carolina.
