HASTINGS, Minn. — The Concordia Cobbers men's golf team shot a 13-over par 301 on Friday during the first day of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship at Emerald Greens Golf Course.
Concordia's Mason Opheim and Sam Henke paced the team in Round 1 and are each tied for ninth place with a first-round 74. Tyler Bossert is tied for 17th with a 76, Ryan Jenson is tied for 22nd with a 77 and Justin Lamp is tied for 33rd at 81.
St. John's holds the lead with a 4-under par 284, two shots ahead of defending champion St. Thomas (286).
Round 2 of the three-day tournament tees off at 9 a.m. Saturday.
