SPOKANE, Wash. — No. 8 Gonzaga proved too much to handle as the North Dakota men's basketball team fell to them 97-66 Tuesday night in nonconference play.
The Elite Eight finalists from a season ago opened up a 27-13 lead midway through the first half en route to taking a 19-point advantage at halftime. The final 31-point margin of victory was Gonzaga's largest lead of the night.
The Bulldogs clamped down on North Dakota, limiting the Fighting Hawks to a 34.7 field goal percentage in the contest. Filip Rebraca notched a double-double for the Fighting Hawks, tallying 16 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Marlon Stewart led all players with 21 points, adding four assists.
UND (1-1) will return to the hardwood at Valparaiso at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17.
