MINNEAPOLIS — The University of Minnesota led most of the way en route to a 79-56 win over the University of North Dakota in nonconference men's college basketball Sunday night at Williams Arena.
The Fighting Hawks' largest lead was 5-0 to open the game, before the Gophers responded, leading the last 37 minutes of the game. UND shot 41% compared to Minnesota's 50%, while the home team hit nine 3-pointers.
Marlon Stewart paced North Dakota with 14 points and eight assists. Filip Rebraca added 10 points and eight rebounds, while De'Sean Allen-Eikens posted 12 points.
Gabe Kalscheur led Minnesota (3-3) with 18 points on 7 of 9 shooting, and Payton Willis totaled nine points and seven rebounds while knocking down three shots from deep.
North Dakota (1-4) hosts North Central at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26.
