Gophers' basketball player to transfer

MINNEAPOLIS - Junior forward Engen Nurumbi is leaving Minnesota and will transfer to another school, the university announced Friday. Nurumbi, a native of Kinshasa, Congo, came to Minnesota from Arizona Western Junior College before the season began.

Nurumbi, a native of Kinshasa, Congo, came to Minnesota from Arizona Western Junior College before the season began. The Gophers hoped he would provide some depth in the front court and help with rebounding and shot-blocking, but Nurumbi has played in just nine games this season, averaging 2.4 minutes and 0.7 points.
