MOORHEAD - The Dragons have added another Nugget to their women's basketball program.
Hawley senior-to-be Drew Sannes has verbally committed to play at Minnesota State Moorhead for the 2013-14 season.
"I liked that it was close to home so I could still have family coming to see me," said Sannes, who added that the University of North Dakota was among her final choices.
The 6-foot-2 Sannes averaged 11 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocked shots in her junior season with Hawley, said Nuggets head girls basketball coach Bill Gottenborg.
"She's really something on defense. She just has an uncanny way to blocks shots," Gottenborg said. "She can shoot from the outside, yet she has that size."

Sannes joins a recent string of Hawley players who have played for the Dragons, including forward Angie Jetvig (2008-2012) and point guard Katie Walden (2005-2009).
Both Jetvig and Walden scored more than 1,000 points during their MSUM careers.
Jessy Noreen, another former Hawley player, will be a freshman guard for MSUM this upcoming season.
"They've done really well coming from here (Hawley) and it seems MSUM has done a lot of good things with the players that come in," Sannes said. "Something clicked in me and I wanted to go to MSUM."
