WAHPETON, N.D. - Fargo Shanley's Nick Hartness scored the winning run on a squeeze play as the Deacons posted a 2-1 Eastern Dakota Conference win over Wahpeton in extra innings on Friday.
The second game of the doubleheader was postponed due to poor field conditions.
Hartness, who went 2-for-4, led the ninth inning off with a double and advanced to a third on a single by Jon Nygaard. He plated the winning run when Brandon Nelson dropped a bunt down.
Mike Jones struck out three batters for the complete-game win.
Fargo Shanley (8-13, 4-8 EDC) hosts Wahpeton at 4 p.m. on Monday for a doubleheader.
