FARGO — The Fargo Force announced Wednesday that former player Chad Demers was named assistant coach and director of scouting for the United States Hockey League team.

Demers played for the Force in three seasons from 2008 until 2011. He played in 117 games, serving as captain in the final year with the Force. He had 50 points in 51 games as a captain, helping the Force to the playoffs in three seasons and the Clark Cup Final twice.

Demers went on to play NCAA Division I hockey at Air Force Academy until 2015. In four seasons, he played 156 games and had 126 points. He was named assistant captain as a senior.
