KEARNEY, Neb. — The Fargo Force picked up a 5-3 road victory Saturday night to split their two-game series with Tri-City in front of 2,345 fans at Viaero Center.

Fargo scored twice in the opening six minutes of the contest with goals from Mason Salquist and Lynden Breen. The Storm cut the deficit in half with a goal from Nick Capone.

Breen tallied once more in the second period to give the Force a 3-1 lead, but Tri City rallied in the final frame. Joseph Berg and Nick Portz both found the back of the net to knot the score at 3-3. The game looked to be on its way to overtime, but Alex Nordstrom netted two goals in the closing two minutes to secure the win for Fargo.

Tristan Broz dealt two assists for the Force. Goalie Cole Brady made 27 saves.

The Force (11-7-1) currently sit third in the United States Hockey League Western Conference standings, 10 points behind first-place Waterloo (16-5-1). Fargo will open a two-game series with Sioux Falls at 7:05 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at Tyson Events Center.
