Fargo South-Shanley 3, Grand Forks Central 2

FARGO — South-Shanley stunned GFC to end the Knights’ 81-game unbeaten streak against North Dakota opponents on Tuesday night in Eastern Dakota Conference boys hockey at Scheels Arena.

Central had gone 78-0-2 against in-state opponents prior to Tuesday’s game.

South-Shanley rose to 8-3-1 overall and 6-2-1 in the EDC. GFC fell to 11-2 overall and 8-1 in the EDC.

Fargo North 3, West Fargo 0

WEST FARGO — The Spartans blanked West Fargo in EDC play.

The score remained tied entering the final period before Caleb Fritel scored back-to-back goals and Dylan Tostenson found the back of the net.

Michael Hallquist and Jesse Staahl each dished out a pair of assists for North. Staahl made 35 saves.

North improved to 7-5-1 overall and 4-4-1 in the EDC. West Fargo fell to 10-4 overall and 5-4 in the EDC.

Fargo Davies 9, West Fargo Sheyenne 0

FARGO — Five first-period goals propelled the Eagles past Sheyenne at Scheels Arena.

Isaac Balvitsch and Gavin Balvitsch both scored for Davies within the first three minutes of the game. The Eagles never turned back as Gavin Balvitsch and Tyler Corbid each notched two goals.

Isaac Balvitsch finished with three assists. Davies outshot Sheyenne (1-12, 0-9 EDC) 41-16.

Davies rose to 9-3 overall and 6-3 in the EDC.


West Fargo United 7, Jamestown 0

JAMESTOWN, N.D. — United cruised by Jamestown for a shutout victory in North Dakota girls hockey.

United improved to 6-9 overall and has won three consecutive games. Jamestown dropped to 4-7 overall.

Fargo North-South 5, Detroit Lakes 2

FARGO — A trio of third-period goals gave North-South the win over Detroit Lakes at the Coliseum.

The two sides traded the first four goals of the night before Rylee Bartz, Josie Hell and Jerica Friese scored three unanswered goals for North-South in the final frame. Hell scored twice, with Bella Ensrud scoring the opening goal.

Emma Coley and Sara Freeman found the back of the net for the Lakers (3-14), who were outshot 53-16.

North-South has won four games in a row and moved to 12-1-1 overall.
