MOORHEAD — Despite outshooting Division III No. 15-ranked Augsburg, Concordia fell 2-0 to the Auggies in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey Friday night.

It was a defensive battle, with the game's first goal coming from Michael Redmon on a power play with five minutes left in the second period. The Auggies (14-7-1, 9-3-1 MIAC) sealed the win when Austin Koss found the back of the net late in the third period.

The Cobbers outshot Ausburg 27-22, with Alex Stoley tallying a team-high four shots. Quinn Fuchs, Matt Donnelly and Christian Cakebread each added three shots. Goalie Jacob Stephan made 20 saves.

Concordia (10-10-2, 7-5-1) concludes the series against Augsburg at 2 p.m. Saturday.
