FARGO — The Fargo Force held off a late Tri-City run to clinch a 3-2 United States Hockey League victory Friday night at Scheels Arena.

Jackson Borst scored the game's first goal, and his first this season, at the 4 minutes, 23 seconds mark of the first period to put Fargo (14-5-2) up 1-0. Jacob Braccini found the back of the net at the 10:54 mark of the second frame to push the Force lead to 2-0. That lead swelled to 3-0 at the 6:12 mark of the third when Fargo's Cody Monds buried a goal.

Twenty-nine seconds after Monds' tally, Cole O'Hara scored for Tri-City (9-7-1) to make it 3-1. At the 13:16 point of the final frame, Carter Mazur netted a goal to slice it to 3-2, but that was as close as the Storm got.

Fargo goalie Brennan Boynton tallied 29 saves.

The final leg of the three-game series is scheduled to conclude at 6:05 p.m. Saturday at Scheels Arena.
