MOORHEAD — The Moorhead Spuds jumped out to an early lead to fuel a 4-2 senior night victory over East Grand Forks on Tuesday in Minnesota boys hockey at Moorhead Sports Center.
Thomas Schroeder struck first to put Moorhead up 1-0 in the first period. Joe Gramer and Gavin Lindberg each scored in the first half of the second frame to push the Spuds ahead 3-0.
Trey Ausmus scored later in the second period and Tanner Lubinski sliced it to 3-2 with four minutes left in the third. Aaron Reierson buried an empty-netter late in the third to seal it for the Spuds (7-6-1).
