FARGO — Four different goal scorers carried the visiting Omaha Lancers to a 4-0 win over the Fargo Force on Friday night at Scheels Arena.
Hunter McDonald opened the scoring in the early stages of the first period to give Omaha an early lead. The dam broke in the second period, when the Lancers notched three goals courtesy of Nolan Renwick, Ayrton Martino and Liam Devlin.
McDonald and Fargo defender Tucker Hodgson both received major penalties for fighting shortly after Devlin's goal gave the visitors a four-goal lead.
Fargo goalie Andrew Miller relieved Brennan Boynton after Boynton conceded Omaha's third goal halfway through the matchup. Boynton tallied 16 saves and Miller made six.
With the defeat, the Force lost sole possession of first place in the United States Hockey League's Western Conference. Fargo, which fell to 27-17-3, are currently tied with the Tri-City Storm with 57 points.
Omaha rose to 25-20-2 and with 52 points sit behind Fargo and Tri-City.
Fargo and Omaha face off again at 6:05 p.m., Saturday, April 3, inside the Scheels Arena.
