FARGO — The Fargo Force scored the last and most important goal on Saturday in a back-and-forth third period that featured four total goals.
The late score by Andre Gasseau at the 18 minutes, 18 seconds mark of the third period gave the Force a late lead to clinch a 4-3 victory over Sioux City in United States Hockey League action at Scheels Arena before 4,476 fans.
It was Gasseau's third goal of the game. He scored earlier in the third period to give Fargo a 3-2 lead. His first goal came in the opening frame that put Fargo up 2-0. Sioux City's Kirklan Irey scored twice in the third, the second of which tied it at 3-3 at the 12:38 mark.
Tyler Rollwagen also scored a Force goal in the first period. Fargo goalie Hugo Haas tallied 22 saves.
Up next for the Force (2-0-1) is a two-game home series with Lincoln starting at 7:05 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15.
