SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Fargo got a pair of third-period goals, but Sioux City staved off the Force comeback for a 3-2 victory in United States Hockey League action on Wednesday at Tyson Events Center.
Trailing 2-0 entering the third period, Bret Link scored for the Force to cut it to 2-1 just under two minutes into the final frame. Charlie Lurie buried a power-play goal for Fargo at the 8 minutes, 27 seconds mark of the third to knot it at 2-2. The Force momentum was short-lived, however, as Sioux City's Charlie Schoen scored 33 seconds later to put the Musketeers (10-4-3) ahead for good.
Force goalie Louden Hogg tallied 27 saves.
Fargo (4-9-3) returns home for a two-game series against Tri-City to end the week. Game 1 is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Friday at Scheels Arena.
