FARGO — Northern Illinois outscored North Dakota State 10-4 in overtime en route to a 74-68 win in the Bison's home opener Sunday afternoon at the Scheels Center.
Gabby Nikitinaite's layup with three seconds remaining sent the game into overtime before the Huskies (1-1) put away the Herd.
Emily Dietz recorded a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Bison. Michelle Gaislerova added 14 points, while Ryan Cobbins finished with 11 points, knocking down a team-high three 3-pointers.
NDSU (0-2) hosts Valparaiso at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15.
