CHICAGO — The Gatorade Company announced Kameron Selvig of Jamestown High School as its 2019-20 Gatorade North Dakota Volleyball Player of the Year. Selvig is the second Gatorade North Dakota Volleyball Player of the Year to be chosen from Jamestown High School.
The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, distinguishes Selvig as North Dakota’s best high school volleyball player.
The 5-foot-8 senior setter recorded 883 assists and 172 digs this past season, leading the Blue Jays (26-7) to the Class A state quarterfinals. Selvig also compiled 136 kills, 43 service aces and 34 blocks while posting a kill percentage of .410 and a hitting percentage of .370. The Western Dakota Association player of the year, Selvig was a first-team Class A all-state selection. She concluded her prep volleyball career with 1,757 assists.
Selvig has maintained a 4.0 GPA in the classroom and ranks No. 1 in her class. She is undecided on her collegiate destination.
