KENT, Ohio - Kent State has turned its athletic program over to Joel Nielsen, who spent the past seven years as South Dakota's athletic director.
Nielsen will replace outgoing AD Laing Kennedy, who is retiring on June 30 after 16 years running one of the Mid-American Conference's top athletic programs.
