Despite several school closures and activities cancellations across the region Tuesday, perhaps the biggest one was still on.

That was a Class B girls basketball matchup that featured top-ranked Kindred visiting No. 3-ranked Central Cass in a rematch of last season's Region 1 tournament final, which saw the Squirrels oust the Vikings in an overtime thriller.

The result was different on Tuesday, with Kindred using a big first half to earn some redemption on its regional rival with a 70-56 victory in front of a rambunctious Central Cass gymnasium.

With the win, the Vikings remained undefeated and improved to 16-0. The Squirrels dropped to 14-2, their other loss coming at the hands of Grafton, their state championship opponent from last season.
