GRAND FORKS - University of North Dakota head football coach Bubba Schweigert has hired Shawn Kostich as his special teams coordinator and tight ends coach.

Kostich, from Moorhead, spent the past five years at the University of Minnesota. The past three seasons, Kostich was a defensive graduate assistant for Gophers head coach Jerry Kill.

"Shawn will bring a lot of energy to our coaching staff," Schweigert said. "He has Big 10 coaching experience and was part of a Minnesota staff that helped spark one of the best turnarounds in the history of that program."
