Legion baseball: Fargo Post 2 rolls to 2 victories at Jim Pettersen Invitational

Post 2 outscored opponents a combined 19-0 on Friday

FARGO — The Fargo Post 2 American Legion baseball team defeated Tri-City Red 8-0 and the Southeast Twins 11-0 in five innings during Day 2 of play at the Jim Pettersen Invitational tournament at Jack Williams Stadium.

Against Tri-City Red, Jordan Leininger tossed a complete-game one-hitter with six strikeouts to earn the win. Landon Meier hit 2 of 3 with a run scored and two RBIs. Dylan Erholtz was 2-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI. Aaron Breitbach had a double and an RBI, while Adam Leininger and Will Bachman each drove in a run.

Against the Southeast Twins, Jordan Leininger and Bachman each homered. Jordan Leininger finished 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs to lead Post 2. Bachman went 2 of 3 with two runs and two RBIs. Connor Holm drove in two runs, and Tommy Simon had two hits and an RBI.

Zach LaMont tossed a complete game, giving up four hits and striking out five to earn the win against the Southeast Twins.

Tournament play continues on Saturday.
