LUVERNE, Minn. — Tri Town/Atwater broke open a tied game with three runs in the sixth inning and defeated Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 7-4 in the quarterfinals of the Division II American Legion State Tournament on Friday.
Now out of title contention, Post 397 will play in the consolation semifinals at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30.
With two outs and the game tied 4-4 in the top of the sixth, Tri Town's Connor Barker and Terrel Renne both singled in runs and a third run scored on a DGF error.
After issuing a lead off walk in the sixth, Tri Town pitcher Jack Peterson then retired six straight Post 397 batters to end the game.
Baker was 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs. Peterson went the distance, allowing three earned runs on five hits. He walked one and struck out 11.

Tri Town took a 4-0 lead with a run in the top of the first and three more in the second, but DGF answered in the bottom half of the second.
Grant Anderson led off with a pop single to short and McKale Pierson followed with a run-scoring triple to center field. Owen Hoover walked and Carson Berreth singled in Pierson.
Gabe Backes ran for Berreth and moved to second on Austin Anderson's pop single to center. Backes then stole third and scored on a Tri Town error.
Post 397 tied it in the third when Jordan Summers was hit by a pitch, stole second, advanced to third on a ground out and scored on Pierson's single to second.
Pierson was 2-for-3 and drove in two runs and Berreth, Grant Anderson and Austin Anderson had Post 397's other hits.
