Legion baseball: Mankato takes down West Fargo Patriots in Central Plains Regional

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Mankato Post 11 (Minn.) defeated the West Fargo Patriots 8-5 Friday in an American Legion baseball Central Plains Regional tournament elimination game, ending the Patriots' season.

West Fargo led 3-2 entering the top of the sixth inning, before Mankato tallied two runs in the top of the sixth to take the lead. Post 11 added four runs in the top of the seventh to go up 8-3.

The Patriots threatened in the bottom of the seventh and got two runs across the plate, but Mankato shut down West Fargo's comeback attempt.

Trey Stocker led West Fargo, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Evan Berg doubled and knocked in a run, while Konner Entz doubled and scored one run. Caleb Duerr and Casey Clemenson each had one hit and one RBI.
