Legion baseball: Moorhead Blues notch sweep over Detroit Lakes
Aaron Reierson drove in multiple runs on the day to lead Moorhead
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — The Moorhead Blues defeated Detroit Lakes 4-2 and 12-2 on Wednesday in an American Legion baseball doubleheader.
In Game 1, the Blues trailed 2-1 after three innings. Zach Taft hit an RBI single to tie it in the top of the fourth and Aaron Reierson hit a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth to put Moorhead up 3-2. Jacob Hendrickson gave the Blues an insurance run in the top of the sixth with an RBI double to put Moorhead up 4-2.
Reierson paced the Blues in Game 2, hitting a pair of RBI singles and drawing a bases-loaded walk. Jacob Vannett had a sacrifice fly and an RBI groundout, while Carson Zimmel hit a two-run double.
The Blues (12-7) are scheduled to play Sioux Falls East at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Mattson field, followed by a 7:30 p.m. matchup against Winnipeg South in "The Pete" tournament.
