CROOKSTON, Minn. — North No. 1 seed Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Post 397 dropped a 16-4 contest to South No. 1 seed Roseau and rebounded with a dominant 16-0 win over South No. 2 seed Twin Valley-Ulen/Hitterdal on Friday in the Minnesota American Legion baseball Division II Northwest sub-state tournament quarterfinals.
McKale Pierson belted a home run and finished with two RBIs to lead D-G-F in the five-inning contest against Roseau. Gabe Backes doubled and drove in one run, while Carson Berreth scored a run and had one RBI.
In the five-inning game against TV-UH, Kayden Camacho finished 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs to pace Post 397. Austin Anderson drove in two runs. Jordan Summers went 2-for-2 with three runs, while Gabe Backes was 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI.
The run output was plenty for D-G-F pitchers Kaden Altobelli and Colby Schreiber, who pitched a combined two-hitter. Altobelli tossed two innings, surrendering only one hit and one walk with four strikeouts. Schreiber surrendered one hit and one walk with two strikeouts over three innings of work.
Post 397 is slated to play North No. 1 seed Fosston at noon Saturday in an elimination game.
