MINNETONKA — West Fargo is the champion of the Gopher Classic Legion baseball tournament.
The Patriots defeated Team Manitoba 7-4 in Tuesday's morning semifinals before swatting away St. Michael-Albertville 10-1 in five innings in the afternoon championship game.
In the title game, the Patriots trailed 1-0 after three innings but all but iced the win with a nine-run fourth inning. They scored a run in the fifth to put the game away.
Griffen Staahl was 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs, and Trey Stocker was 2 for 4 with a double and he drove in two runs.
Casey Clemenson had a hit and two RBIs and Evan Berg doubled and drove in a run. Matt Heupel and Konner Entz both had hits and RBIs, and Cooper Borchardt and Peyton Janzi had the Patriots' other hits.

Carter Ohleen went the distance for the win. He allowed one run on two hits, walking two and striking out one.
