Two local American Legion baseball players tossed no-hitters as Fargo Post 2, the West Fargo Patriots and the Moorhead Blues each split their first two games of the God Bless America tournament.
Post 2 pitcher Steve Hirchert threw a no-hitter to lead his team to a 1-0 victory against the Bryan Packers (West Point, Miss.) on Friday at Jack Williams Stadium.
Hirchert struck out eight batters and walked one.
Manitoba Youth Select edged Fargo 4-3 earlier in the afternoon.
The Moorhead Blues blanked the Winnipeg (Manitoba) South Chiefs 8-0 off the strength of a Brock Gnadt no-hitter.

Gnadt faced 17 batters and struck out seven. Mike Bormann, Jake Krause, Brian Ziegler and Justin Pieterick kept the Blues' bats hot. Each had two hits.
The Regina (Saskatchewan) White Sox defeated Moorhead 4-2. Ben Torres tossed a complete game for the White Sox.
The West Fargo Patriots split at Veterans Field. Fergus Falls (Minn.) defeated the Patriots 11-1 in six innings in the early game.
Anthony Oslund went 3-for-3 and knocked in three runs for Fergus Falls.
Brock Storrusten went 3-for-4 with an RBI to lead West Fargo to a 6-1 victory against North Winnipeg (Manitoba) in the second game.
