FARGO – The dome of an indoor golf facility remains deflated after more than two weeks, and the manager of the Sports Bubble says he’s not sure when the roof will rise again.
An equipment failure during its closed hours Dec. 2 led to the deflation of the dome at 2761 12th Ave. S. Manager Jeff Olson said Thursday he hoped to have the dome inflated again for use by this weekend, but equipment issues will likely keep that from happening.
A dome specialist has been called to work on the air-blowing units.
Typically, the main blower has two backup systems, Olson said, and the cause of the problems has yet to be determined.
Since the dome’s opening in 1993, the roof has collapsed once before.

Over the Fourth of July holiday in 1999, it deflated after a windstorm, keeping it out of commission for about three months.
According to its website, the air pressure necessary to keep the bubble inflated is 0.036 pounds per square inch.
