Mayville State baseball set for Williamsburg, Ky., bracket to open NAIA tournament

The Comets are a No. 5 seed for the opening round of the NAIA baseball tournament.

MAYVILLE, N.D. — Mayville State is headed to Kentucky for the opening round of the NAIA baseball tournament, which starts Monday, May 17.

The Comets (35-16) are the No. 5 seed for the Williamsburg, Ky., bracket and play No. 4 seed Point Park (Pa.) in the opening round Monday.

Mayville State earned an automatic bid to the NAIA tournament after winning the North Star Athletic Association tournament championship over Bellevue (Neb.), which also made the national tournament.

Point Park (37-14), located in Pittsburgh, is a member of the River States Conference. The game time is yet to be determined for the Mayville State-Point Park game. Cumberlands (Ky.) is the top seed in the Williamsburg bracket.
