Ryan Messerschmidt tossed a one-hitter in five innings to help Fargo North get a split of an Eastern Dakota Conference baseball doubleheader Thursday against Grand Forks Red River.

The Roughriders won Game 1 8-0, but the Spartans won Game 2 10-0.

Jake LaDouceur went

3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs for Red River in the first game.

Taylor Fiske went 3-for-3 with five RBIs for the Spartans (9-10, 8-5 EDC) in the second game.
