KENSINGTON, Minn. — Three Moorhead girls Nordic skiers placed in the top nine to lead to Spuds to a second-place finish at the Alexandria Invite on Tuesday.
Zaine Braaten of the Moorhead boys team placed second to help lead the Spuds to a third-place finish.
Moorhead's Kennedy Olson placed fourth in 19 minutes, 55.5 seconds, Abbie Ishaug was fifth in 19:58.0 and Ava Nelson was ninth in 20:42.9.
The Spuds girls team finished with 372 points, trailing only meet-winner Brainerd (380).
Braaten finished in 16:17.7, just 4.2 seconds behind winner David Ronnevik (16:13.5) of Little Falls. Moorhead's Max Rogers placed 10th in 17:45.8.
Brainerd won the boys title at 378, just one point ahead of Little Falls' 377. The Spuds were third with 357.
