SARTELL, Minn. - The Moorhead girls track and field team won the Class 2A, Section 8 track and field meet.
The Spuds girls were in third place entering the pole vault, which was the final event.
The Spuds boys placed second with 99 points. Sartell finished in first place with 100.5 points.
Moorhead finished with 99 points. St. Cloud Tech got second with 95 points.
Senior Anna Valan (800) and junior Kristin Slette (400) won individual event titles and played a role in Moorhead's winning 800 relay.

Moorhead's 800 relay recorded a personal best of 1:45.34. Melissa Gilbury, Leslie Eldred, Valan and Slette comprise the 800 squad.
Gilbury added a seventh-place finish in the 200.
Anne Boyd finished sixth in the 100.
Sam Kouba won the pole vault at 10 feet. She just missed making it over 11 feet. Kouba will advance to the state meet.
Moorhead's 1,600 relay team finished in second place. The 3,200 relay team finished in fourth place.
Anna Skauge got seventh in
Detroit Lakes junior Hanna Grinaker took first in the 1,600 and 3,200.
Moorhead junior Corey Eidem won the boys 100 and 200.

Junior Brock Spandl (110 hurdles) and finished second in the pole vault at 13 feet.
Moorhead senior James Krajsa (1,600) also finished first with a time of 4:19.93.
Moorhead's Adam Kne placed second in the 3,200 with a time of 9:39.
Five Spuds advanced to the Minnesota state meet June 10-11 at the National Sports Center in Blaine.
