Moorhead’s Steinwand shines for Gustavus tennis

ST. PETER, Minn. - Gustavus Adolphus freshman Gabe Steinwand of Moorhead won six tennis matches over three days before losing in the championship of the Midwest Open NCAA Division III tournament held Sunday.

ST. PETER, Minn. – Gustavus Adolphus freshman Gabe Steinwand of Moorhead won six tennis matches over three days before losing in the championship of the Midwest Open NCAA Division III tournament held Sunday.
In a field of 123 players from 23 schools, Steinwand defeated players from St. Olaf, Grinnell, Bethel, Wisconsin-Whitewater, Luther and Wisconsin-Eau Claire before being defeated in the finals by St. Olaf’s Christian Beck 6-4, 6-2.
