Notes: The Squirrels earned the Region 1 title last year, and finished second at state. ... Defense has been the key for Central Cass, according to Kraft. "We like to work really hard on the defensive end, and that really helps the offensive flow," Kraft said. ... The Squirrels' only loss was a 69-68 double-overtime defeat to Grafton on Feb. 5.

Lidgerwood-Wyndmere Warbirds

The Warbirds may be without starting forward Chelsie Aker at the region tournament due to a concussion. ... Central Cass defeated Lidgerwood-Wyndmere 66-29 early in the regular season. ... The Warbirds have won four of their last eight games.

Notes: Church has almost 1,800 career points, and should end the year as the program's all-time leading scorer. Campbell has more than 1,300 career points, and should finish third in school history. "The seniors are the ones that take the tough shots, get the rebounds make the pass to keep us in the game," Dahlgren said. "They set the tone." ... Kindred defeated F-C-T 50-42 on Jan. 25.

Kindred Vikings

Notes: Piatz said the team likes to play three girls around 5-foot-10 at the same time to create mismatches. ... All but one of the girls on the team competed with the Kindred volleyball team that finished second in the region. "We have a great bunch of girls who work hard," Piatz said. "Winning is contagious. They expect to win." ... Kindred is allowing 31 points a game.

6:30 p.m. - Milnor vs. Fargo Oak Grove:

Notes: The Bison work the ball into posts Tompkins and Halvorson early and often. "We've been successful at getting it in there," Kilichowski said. "The inside game has opened up some 3-point opportunities for us." ... Tompkins and Weber have played with the varsity since 8th grade. ... The seniors went 0-20 as sophomores.

Oak Grove Grovers

Record: 13-9

Notes: Oak Grove allowed 42 points a game during the region tournament. Bledsoe said the team's defensive intensity has helped them to a second-consecutive region tournament. "The girls came out with a lot of energy," he said. "If the energy and effort is there, I love our chances." ... The Grovers' trip to the region tourney last year was their first since 2004.

8:15 p.m. - Enderlin vs. Oakes:

Enderlin Eagles

Record: 16-6

"We just play good defense and we rebound well as a team," Quenette said. ... The five seniors have played varsity together since their freshmen years.
