Tanner Naastad's full-time sport is soccer, but his part-time role as Grand Forks Central's kicker paid handsomely Friday night.
Naastad booted a 23-yard field goal as time expired - a rarity in high school football - lifting Central to a 24-21 victory over Fargo North in Eastern Dakota Conference football.
"That's a big-time kick. Two seconds left on the clock to win the game, that's pressure on the young man," Central coach Bill Lorenz said. "He performed superbly, obviously."
