West Fargo erupted for seven runs in the third inning en route to a 10-0 victory in six innings against Grand Forks Red River on Friday in the North Dakota state girls softball semifinals at West Fargo's Elmwood Park.
Danielle Nelson went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Packers.
West Fargo is the 11-time defending state champion in softball. This is the first season the North Dakota High School Activities Association has sanctioned the sport.
