NDHSCA nominates coaches for annual national honor

FARGO – The North Dakota High School Coaches Association announced its nominees for the National High School Athletic Coaches Association’s National Coach of the Year Award in several sports categories.
The nominees include, Fargo North’s Jeff Fiechtner (baseball), Bismarck Century’s Julie Stavn (girls cross country), Hazen’s Kathy Berglund (golf), Bottineau’s David Hoff (special sports), West Fargo’s Marsha Dahl (swimming and diving), West Fargo’s Chad Anderson (tennis), Hazen’s Randy Johnson (boys track and field), Rugby’s Bill Jansen (girls track and field), Grand Forks Red River’s Carolyn Olson (volleyball), Bismarck’s Jeff Schumacher (wrestling) and Mandan’s Claudia Schoelkopf (boys assistant coach of the year).
The NHSACA will select eight finalists in 19 recognized categories from across the nation who will be honored at the National Coach of the Year Awards Banquet scheduled for June 20 in Rochester, Minn.
