FARGO - The North Dakota State women's basketball program lost one player, but will gain one of the area's biggest names. Setter Jennifer Lopez has committed to the basketball team after volleyball ends.
She'll be a senior setter this fall, a four-year starter for a program that has qualified for the NCAA tournament in two of her first three years. Bison basketball coach Carolyn DeHoff said she first talked to head volleyball coach Kari Thompson before moving on to Lopez.
Meanwhile, freshman guard Kelsey Peltier left the team after last season, but will remain at NDSU to get her education, DeHoff said.
