FARGO - The North Dakota State women's cross country team is ranked sixth in the Midwest region to open the 2013 season.
The No. 6 ranking is the highest in school history for the Bison, a season after the squad won a second consecutive Summit League title last year.
The rankings were released Monday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers nabbed the top spot in the rankings.
