NDSU's Dolezal to throw javelin at Pan American Games

FARGO-North Dakota State track and field volunteer assistant coach Riley Dolezal will throw the javelin for Team USA at this week's Pan American Games in Toronto.

FARGO-North Dakota State track and field volunteer assistant coach Riley Dolezal will throw the javelin for Team USA at this week's Pan American Games in Toronto.

Dolezal, who competed for NDSU from 2005 to 2009, will throw the javelin at 4:35 p.m. Friday. The event will have live video available through ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.

Dolezal owns the fifth-best mark among the field of 12 javelin throws. Dolezal is hoping to reach the qualifying standard of 82 meters to advance to the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China, in late August. His season-best mark is 81.16 meters.

Dolezal was the 2013 USA champion in the javelin and was runner-up in 2014 and 2015.
