Neal III leads Fargo Invaders to dominant win over Twin Cities Sabercats

MOORHEAD — The Fargo Invaders cruised to a 36-0 victory over the Twin Cities Sabercats on Saturday afternoon in Northern Elite Football League action at Moorhead High School's Jim Gotta Stadium.

Invaders quarterback Jamus Neal III threw for 142 yards and two touchdowns with one interception on 10 of 23 passing. Neal III also paced Fargo's ground game, rushing for 99 yards and two TDs. Nate Soto hauled in three catches for 79 yards and two touchdowns, and Rodney Stewart had three catches for 15 yards and a score. Dev Alger and Jon Baune each tallied a team-high four receptions, Alger for 47 yards and Baune 39.

The Fargo defense had five sacks and two interceptions while holding the Sabercats to 87 passing yards and 24 rushing yards. Derek Alexander totaled eight tackles and a sack. Josh Gatlin and Travis Williams each came down with an interception.

Next for the Invaders (2-2) is a road matchup with the St. Paul Pioneers on June 5.
